Brothers Ralph and Ian Pathuis entered the building industry as subcontractors and took over an existing construction business, rebranding it as Freedom Constructions.

Ralph and Ian decided to part ways. Ralph continued his path in the industry by founding Keystone Building Services, marking the beginning of a new chapter focused on second storey additions.

Ralph’s son, Steve Pathuis, joined the family business. With a fresh perspective and practical experience, Steve became a driving force behind modernising operations.

Keystone secured long-term relationships with trusted brands like Beaumont Tiles, James Hardie, and others, ensuring consistent quality and smoother project delivery.

Following strong demand in the home renovation market, Keystone completed a record number of second storey additions — reinforcing its reputation for reliability and quality.
